A court has heard Terrifying new details of a teenage girl’s alleged night-time road ordeal in which Sydney father allegedly turned from good Samaritan into her sex stalker and indecent attacker.

The 19-year-old was allegedly followed, indecently assaulted, and then followed again by Kenan Basic after she repelled his alleged suggestion she provide “sexual favours around the corner” in return for his fixing her damaged car.

After allegedly pursuing her twice more and touching her breast and genitals, police say Basic continued to follow her, tapping on her locked car window yelling “c’mon, c’mon, let’s go” as the frightened girl screamed down the phone to her boyfriend.

It has also emerged that police are investigating Basic for further alleged incidents and he will face further charges, including possessing methamphetamine tomorrow.

The married father of a one-year-old child, Basic sobbed as he appeared in Bankstown Local Court by audio visual link from Silverwater prison and Magistrate Elaine Truscott read an account of the alleged pursuit of the girl Magistrate Truscott described as a “predator”.

The alleged ordeal began when the girl crashed her car in a minor collision in the western Sydney suburb of Bankstown last Thursday night.

It was about 6pm and the young woman drove to a BP service station.

The accused, an unemployed carpenter who lives with his wife near the service station, offered to make minor repairs to the girl’s car radiator.

After an hour during which Basic is captured on CCTV lying under the car, he allegedly propositioned the teenager for sex as a thank you for his assistance.

Magistrate Truscott said in court that police allege when the girl suggested she pay him instead and gave him a brief hug, “he asked for sexual favours and said ‘come on, just for five minutes’.”

The girl said no and she drove off, calling her partner on his mobile while he dialled triple-0 on another phone and she remained on the line.

But the teen was forced to pull over again into a slip lane in Bankstown because her radiator was overheating.

As the girl opened the bonnet of her vehicle, police allege Basic drew up in his vehicle, parked, walked up to her, grabbed her by the shoulder spin her around and put his left hand on her breast, Magistrate Truscott said in court.

“She pushed him as hard as he could, he stumbled backwards” and then put his left hand towards her genitals, Ms Truscott told the court.

Magistrate Truscott said in court that police allege Basic then tried to get into the car, but the girl had locked the doors so he tapped on the window, yelling “C’mon, c’mon let’s go. What have I done wrong?”

The woman then again drove off, but became caught up in heavy traffic on busy Milperra Rd.

Magistrate Truscott said police allege Basic “again has followed her” and the girl again called her boyfriend “screaming out the defendant’s registration number”.

Police allege Basic was behind her on Milperra Road and got out of his car and allegedly tried to open her door twice as she screamed and he gave her “gave her the thumbs up”.

Police arrested and charged Basic with two counts of indecent assault, and one each of stalking and inciting person to commit an act of indecency.

Magistrate Truscott refused Basic’s second bail application, saying that by giving his alleged victim the “thumbs up” as she screamed in her locked car “he has no regard for the intimidation his conduct represents”.

The court heard Basic was a Bosnian refugee whose father had been murdered in the Bosnian genocide and that his pensioner mother, who sobbed in court during Tuesday’s hearing, relied heavily on his help.

Basic had followed the girl at her request because of her faulty radiator, his lawyer told the court.

He will appear on the drug charge and two motor vehicle charges on Wednesday, and reappear on the charges relating to the girl’s alleged assault and stalking next January.
