Teacher’s aide in Sydney’s Macarthur region charged over alleged child prostitution scheme
A teacher’s aide has been charged over allegations he prostituted children he met online, allegedly extorting them through “fraudulent” online profiles.
A teacher’s aide has been charged with child prostitution offences, with police alleging he prostituted children he met online through “fraudulent” profiles.
NSW Police commenced an investigation into the activities of a Picton man’s online activities in September last year, leading to a search warrant being executed on Sunday at the 18-year-old’s address.
Following further inquiries, detectives returned to the address and arrested the man about 8.45am on Tuesday.
Police allege the man met children online who he paid to film them engaging in sexual acts with him.
It will be further alleged in court the man had a number of fraudulent online profiles which he would use to extort young children.
Following his arrest, the man was was taken to Narellan Police Station, where he was charged with two counts of act as client with child under 18 in prostitution, produce child abuse material and possess child abuse material.
He was refused bail and fronted Moss Vale Local Court on Tuesday.
In a statement, NSW Police said investigations were continuing.
