A couple allegedly kicked police officers and attacked them with a makeshift weapon when they were asked to turn down music at a Sydney property.
A couple allegedly attacked police officers including throwing a pool cue at them after being told to turn their music down at a Sydney property.
A woman, 38, and man, 39, were arrested outside a home on Leffler street at Oran Park in Sydney’s southwest overnight, after officers responded to a noise complaint at 12.50am on Sunday morning.
Police allege they requested the tenants at the property to turn down the music but a woman became hostile during the encounter.
She argued with the officers as they returned to their vehicle before the man allegedly threw a pool cue at them, NSW Police said.
The man allegedly started to throw punches at the officer before the pair were pepper-sprayed.
Additional officers went to the house and it’s alleged the woman kicked a male sergeant in the shin.
As a constable went to arrest the woman, the man allegedly kicked that officer in the face.
The 39-year-old man and 38-year-old woman were restrained and arrested. They were both taken to Narellan Police Station.
One officer suffered a cut to his face and was treated by paramedics.
The man was charged with intimidate police officer in execution of duty, assault police officer in execution of duty, resist or hinder police officer in the execution of duty, and armed with intent to commit indictable offence.
He was refused bail at Parramatta Local Court on Sunday.
