THE woman who killed two young boys at school in Greenacre has faced court for the first time
A WOMAN has faced court for the first time over a crash at a Sydney school that killed two young boys.
Maha Al-Shennag was surrounded by a small group of supporters as she left her brief mention at Bankstown Local Court on Wednesday.
The 52-year-old single mother was charged after the Toyota Kluger she was driving slammed into a Year 3 classroom at Banksia Road Public School in Sydney’s south-west earlier this month.
Jihad Darwiche, eight, and a nine-year-old classmate Andrew Encinas were killed in the accident.
Al-Shennag was charged with two counts of dangerous driving occasioning death, driving in a dangerous manner and negligent driving occasioning death for the accident.
She is also facing charges relating to children who survived the incident but sustained injuries and were taken to hospital.
The mother-of-four from Punchbowl did not enter a plea when she appeared at Bankstown court today. She has another mention scheduled at Burwood on February 21 but was granted permission to to appear.
