A teen accused of being involved in a brawl that led to the death of a much loved young man outside a Sydney pub has been granted bail.

The 19-year-old has entered no plea and he was one of three men charged over the fight that led to the death of 23-year-old Evander Tuala, who suffered critical head injuries after he was allegedly punched and knocked unconscious.

Mr Brown had been remanded in custody since his arrest and on Wednesday he launched a bid for bail in Central Local Court.

Represented by high-profile lawyer Bryan Wrench, Mr Brown was successful and allowed to walk free on the condition he comply with a set of strict conditions.

Magistrate Alison Viney told the court that Mr Brown must surrender his passport, reside at a Matraville address, not hang around any co-accused, abstain from alcohol or drugs and not enter the Sydney CBD.

An acceptable person must also post a $10,000 surety that will be forfeited if Mr Brown fails to comply with the conditions.

Mr Brown’s case returns to court on May 10.

His co-accused Keidan Donovan-Phillips, the brother-in-law of Brisbane Broncos captain Adam Reynolds, remains in custody and his case will be mentioned again in court on Thursday.

A third man, aged 20, will appear in court on May 5.
