Man faces attempted murder charge after alleged strangling at Ettalong Beach
A DISTRESSED Lance Pearce could be heard saying “she has to be all right” as he appeared in court charged with the attempted murder of his ex-girlfriend.
A MAN faced court this morning charged with trying to strangle his ex-girlfriend to death in her Ettalong Beach home.
Dressed in white forensics overalls and looking distressed Lance Michael Pearce, of St Clair, made a brief appearance at Gosford Local Court charged with one count of attempted murder by suffocation, the Central Coast Advocate reports.
He could be heard saying “no, no” and “is she all right, she has to be all right” from the dock before a magistrate ordered the 34-year-old undergo a psychiatric assessment.
His Legal Aid solicitor did not enter any pleas and the matter was adjourned to November 24.
Charge sheets allege Mr Pearce tried to strangle Blair Heather Dalton to death some time between 6.50pm and 7.15pm on Tuesday.
Police were called to the 35-year-old woman’s Picnic Parade address where they found her suffering severe injuries.
Officers performed CPR until paramedics arrived and she was takes to Gosford Hospital where she remains in a critical condition.
