Emergency services were called to Speedy St in Molong, near Orange in central western NSW, at 3.40pm on June 9 after reports of a crash between a ute and a sedan.

Her two passengers sustained minor injuries in the fatal crash. They were treated by paramedics before being taken to hospital.

The ute was badly damaged in the crash and the 35-year-old male driver, Troy Armstrong, had to be extracted from the vehicle by Fire and Rescue NSW.

Paramedics attended to his injuries before rushing him to Royal North Shore Hospital in a critical condition.

Mr Armstrong and the woman are believed to have been in a relationship prior to the fatal crash. Police confirmed they were investigating the crash as a domestic violence incident.

While he was in the Sydney hospital, police charged Mr Armstrong with murder and two counts of attempted murder.
