Telephone calls set to form part of the case against a cult leader facing grooming allegations will be probed to determine if they fall under lawyer-client privilege, a court has heard.

William Kamm was arrested alongside his wife Sandra Susan Mathison in March following a six-month police investigation and the pair have been accused of grooming a woman from the age of six.

Kamm, also known as Little Pebble, is the founder of the religious doomsday cult Order of Saint Charbel, which is based out of a compound near Nowra on the NSW south coast.

Police allege the pair groomed a woman from the age of six for more than a decade.

It’s alleged Kamm was writing the girl letters while in jail and sent her gifts – which Ms Mathison is accused of giving to the girl, the court previously heard.

Specialist police swooped on the group’s headquarters on March 7 as well as a Sydney CBD unit.

The court previously heard that the evidence relied on by police included intercepted phone calls from Kamm in jail to his wife.

The court heard on Thursday that there was potentially an issue with the prison calls which could fall under legal professional privilege.

The matter was adjourned for six weeks for the calls to be assessed for any issue.

Kamm has been charged with grooming a child under 14 years for unlawful sexual activity, grooming a child for unlawful sexual activity, inciting a person to do sexual act, and two counts of failing to comply with extended/interim supervision order.

Ms Mathison is charged with grooming a child under 14 years for unlawful sexual activity and grooming a child for unlawful sexual activity.

Neither Kamm or Ms Mathison have entered pleas.

Kamm will return to court in August.
