Former cheerleader Connor Lind faces child sex charges
A former cheerleader and private school footballer is awaiting trial for allegedly having sex with two underage girls.
The trial of a former cheerleader and private school rugby player accused of having sex with two underage girls has been delayed again.
Connor Lind, 21, is facing charges of four counts of having sexual intercourse with a child aged between 14 and 16 and one count of intentionally sexually touching a child of the same age.
The case was briefly heard in the Sydney District Court on Monday and delayed while parties deliberated ahead of an expected trial.
A further hearing date was set for October 10 – more than two years after Mr Lind was first charged.
Mr Lind previously attended the exclusive St Augustine’s College in Brookvale, on Sydney’s northern beaches.
As well as playing in the 2nd XV as a scrum half and utility back, he was selected in the Sydney Junior Rugby 2017 representative under-17 squad.
More recently, he has competed with a northern beaches American college-style cheerleading team.
Police allege Mr Lind sexually assaulted two girls – aged 14 and 15 – between November 2020 and May 2021.
He was arrested at his Kirrawee home on August 10, 2021, following a three-month investigation into the allegations.
Conditions for Mr Lind’s initial bail release included that his parents pay a $20,000 surety and that he report to Sutherland police station every Monday, Wednesday and Friday.
He was also forbidden from entering the northern beaches suburbs of Allambie Heights and Frenchs Forest, where at the time his family was still residing.
