Coles’ latest offering to Rose Bay pooches

The first of Coles’ new look local neighbourhood supermarkets has officially in Sydney, which includes a dog treats bar and a macaron and mochi ice-cream parlour.

Pampered pets will be treated to some fancy snacks at the first NSW Coles Local supermarket which opened in Rose Bay.

The store marks a new era for supermarket shopping with never-before-seen features for pets, including a pick-and-mix bar just for dogs so customers can spoil their pooches with a bespoke blend of canine snacks.

“People really like to spoil their pets,” social media influencer and foodie Lisa Clark said. “Having a doggie treat bar is something that will be a big hit around the area. My dog Levi loves a good treat!”

It will also include a macaron and mochi ice-cream parlour, a self-serve coffee and orange juice station, plant-based and kosher ranges, along with ready-to-eat meals and products from Sydney producers, including Field to Fork, whose Bondi and Vaucluse outlets were hit hard by the pandemic.

“We are committed to making a positive difference to the communities­ in which we operate, and our Rose Bay store helps us to support small local producers in these difficult times,” Coles CEO Steven Cain said.

Coles research found the Rose Bay community was more than twice as likely to choose premium, healthy products than the average shopper.

The store will create 26 jobs and, with not-for-profit Print35, provide jobs for people with disabilities.

Coles Local has been voted as one of the top 30 food retail stores worldwide to visit in 2020.
