The man who worked alongside Alan Jones for 18 years said his stories of life inside the radio king’s home would be “juicy” — if ever he decided to tell them.
David Allan, now aged in his late 70s, was employed as Jones’ butler until he sensationally and suddenly quit almost five years ago.
During his tenure, Mr Allan catered for the rich and famous who were regularly entertained at Jones’ properties.
Asked on Thursday if he was surprised to read the claims of four men against Jones, Mr Allan said: “The butler has left the pantry.”
“I was surprised by it simply because I hadn’t read the report when I was contacted by a chap this morning … but nothing much surprises me any more,” he said.
When Mr Allan quit his long-serving job in 2018, it was rumoured he left because of a clash with Jones’ young protege Jake Thrupp, then aged in his early 20s.
Sources at the time claimed Thrupp’s presence in Jones’ apartment within the palatial Toaster building at Circular Quay wreaked havoc with Mr Allan’s schedule, and he resigned.

Mr Allan, who still works part-time in hospitality, said he had always maintained silence and loyalty since leaving his butler job.
“I could tell a lot of stories, and they’d be juicy, but that’s all I will say for now.
“The scullery maid has left the kitchen,” he joked.
