Burning rubber is all in a days work for dragracer Aaron Hambridge.
His need for speed has taken him almost to the top after he clocked a break neck speed of 541.2km/h in Darwin.
It is the third fastest speed clocked in the world for the quarter mile distance.
“It’s a pretty big thing to step out there and do the third fastest race in the world after only being in it for a week is pretty incredible,” he said.
He clocked 541.2km/h in 4.61 seconds at the Hidden Valley.
“You get tunnel vision really bad,” Mr Hambridge said. “Honestly I don’t even take a breath at all.”
“When you start off there’s 5 or 6G’s when you first hit the throttle.”
