2024 Darwin Pride Festival kicks off on Thursday with Ricki-Lee to headline music line-up
This year’s Darwin Pride Festival is bringing some major star power with music, cabaret and everything in-between. See what else is in store.
A sea of colour will take over Top End from Friday as the 2024 Darwin Pride Festival kicks off.
A program of queer cabaret, music, theatre and comedy will run until this Sunday, with ARIA-winning pop singer Ricki-Lee performing in Darwin for the first time on Saturday.
This year’s event will also introduce a film festival, and local writer Sean Guy will debut his new play King Paddy, billed as “an intergenerational queer comedy of errors”.
Northern Territory Major Events Company chief executive Suzana Bishop said this year’s theme was ‘celebrating the differences that connect us’.
More Coverage
“It is one of the most diverse and integrated LGBTQIA+ celebrations in all of regional Australia and to see that they have attracted such a great variety of programming, including Australian pop diva Ricki-Lee, is a testament to the hard work of organisers.”
Top End Pride chair Sean Taylor encouraged people of all backgrounds to “come and celebrate the differences that connect us and join in with the exciting program we have put together”.
