Former Lone Wolf sergeant-at-arms forgot to report to police because he was ‘high on the drug fantasy’

WAS it real life? Or was it just fantasy? An ex-bikie has fronted court for skipping bail after he was “too high” to report to police.

A FORMER Gold Coast Lone Wolf sergeant-at-arms forgot to report to police while on bail because he was high on the drug “fantasy”, a court has been told.

Shane Treloar appeared in Southport Magistrates Court yesterday charged with breaching bail, possession of dangerous drugs and driving under the influence. He pleaded guilty to all charges.

Lawyer Jodi Allen, of Buckland Allen Criminal Lawyers, told the court Treloar had failed to report to the Southport police station this month — a condition of his bail for other offences — because he had taken the drug fantasy the day before and forgot.

“When police attended the address, he told them he had overdosed on fantasy so he couldn’t attend for reporting conditions,” Ms Allen said.

Treloar also breached the residential condition of his bail on April 23, staying with his boss, rather than at his address in Southport.

The court was told he breached the residential order because his partner kicked him out for “bringing ladies home”.

“She said he was not allowed to bring ladies home and he was staying with his boss at the time,” Ms Allen said.

Treloar also was charged after allegedly being found in possession of a plastic bottle containing the drug known as “GHB” and a bag of methamphetamines at a Surfers Paradise address in December 2015.

The court was told police searched a property in Hamilton Ave and found a ziplocked bag with 1.56 grams of methamphetamines and a 600ml water bottle with a green liquid in it, hidden in a sock. Treloar told police the liquid was a “pre-workout” formula.

“I take it before working out,” he told police.

The bottle was later found to contain 18 per cent gamma hydroxybutyrate (GHB).

Treloar was also charged with driving while on the drug “ice” after police found him behind the wheel at Oxenford in early 2016.

The court heard the former bikie was pulled over by police after visiting a McDonald’s drive-through and admitted he had taken methamphetamines the day before.

Ms Allen said while Treloar was now working as a concreter, he had been addicted to drugs for a significant period.

“It’s something he can’t overcome overnight,” Ms Allen said.

In sentencing, Magistrate Catherine Pirie said it was “no secret” Treloar had been struggling with drug addiction for some years, based on his extensive criminal history.

Treloar was sentenced to nine months jail for drug possession, six months for driving under the influence and four months each for the breaches of bail. The sentences are concurrent and he was granted immediate parole.
