Map shows where to get sausage sizzles, bacon and egg rolls and other food options on election day
It’s the only thing Aussie truly love about election day: the sausage sizzle. Here’s where to find the best one near you.
A detailed map has emerged ahead of the federal election, giving Aussies the vital information they need on polling day.
The map shows where voters can find democracy sausage sizzles, cake stalls and coffee. Icons also show where there’s vegetarian options, halal food and bacon and egg rolls on offer.
The Democracy Sausage Map allows Aussies to check what food and treats are on offer as they cast their votes in Saturday’s federal election.
The map was put together from crowdsourced (“or is it crowd sauced?” the site asks) information from Facebook, Twitter, Instagram and polling place stallholders.
The site also encourages stallholders to add their stall — so if your sausage sizzle or cake stall is not yet registered, you can sign up by going to Democracy Sausage and registering ahead of election day.
“It’s practically part of the Australian Constitution. Or something,” the site reads.
