Tony Abbott gooooooone

Sky News and news.com.au is calling Warringah for Zali Steggall, meaning former Liberal PM Tony Abbott has lost his seat.

After 25 years, Mr Abbott has been turfed out by voters in the Sydney seat.

With 15 per cent of the vote counted, Ms Steggall has achieved a 62.3 per cent result on a two-party preferred basis.

Sarah Hanson-Young hangs on for the Greens

South Australian Greens senator Sarah Hanson-Young is on track to retain her seat.

She was under pressure to hang onto her spot, but she's looking good with 57 per cent of the vote counted.

Hinch bites the dust

Derryn Hinch looks unlikely to retain his seat in the Senate.

The former TV personality, who ran under his Derryn Hinch's Justice Party, is on track to lose his seat representing Victoria.

Jacqui Lambie on track for Senate spot

Jacqui Lambie is on track to score a seat in the Senate.

With 63 per cent of the vote counted, Lambie is in front to claim the last Senate spot for Tasmania.

Lambie was a senator under the Palmer United Party, but quit to go independent.

Labor wins Dunkley

Labor has won the Victorian seat of Dunkley, which had been held by the Liberals' Chris Crewther.

Fraser Anning loses his Senate seat

Fraser Anning has lost his seat in the Senate.

The most-tweeted zinger about his loss comes courtesy of ABC Analyst Antony Green: "Fraser Anning goes back to where he came from because he won't come back to the Parliament."

Clive not likely to gain seat

He may have spent an estimated $60 million in advertising in the hopes of getting back into Parliament, but Clive Palmer is unlikely to win a seat.
With more than a third of the Senate vote counted, Mr Palmer is on track to lose his bid for a spot in the Senate for Queensland.
The news is better for Pauline Hanson's One Nation. Her No.1 Senate pick, Malcolm Roberts, is on track to win a Senate seat.

Labor's Fiona Phillips has claimed victory in the NSW seat of Gilmore, which had been held by the Liberal Party for 23 years.

Liberals win Braddon

Liberal MP Gavin Pearce has won the seat of Braddon in Hobart. Labor's Justine Keay has just conceded.
