Arrest after heavily armed police swarm home in Sydney’s west

A woman has been arrested after heavily armed police surrounded a house in Sydney’s west, amid reports she threatened to burn the home down.

A woman has been arrested after heavily armed police surrounded a house in Sydney’s west.

Police had barricaded the area amid reports a woman was armed with a knife inside the home in Boundary Rd, Chester Hill.

NSW Police confirmed an operation had been underway since 12.50pm.

No further details were released while the incident was ongoing.

A woman was arrested hours later and taken to Bankstown Hospital for assessment, police confirmed.

Besides the large police presence, paramedics were also on standby.

The woman had threatened self harm and to burn the house down, 7 News reported.
