Police are interviewing a man after a woman was found dead and her daughter left injured in what police have described as a “serious incident” in Perth.

Emergency services rushed to Ulandi Court, at Beckenham in the city’s southeast, just before midnight on Saturday to find the woman in her 60s dead.

The woman’s daughter, aged in her 30s, was found injured at the property.

Detective Senior Sergeant Keith Neubronner told media on Sunday the investigation was at an early stage but it was believed the two women were “assaulted with an edged weapon”.

As a result of that we have the death of one person and the injury of another... We know an altercation has occurred, but the actual intricacies of it all, we have no idea at this point in time.”

Police sought assistance from the public locating the 25-year-old who was allegedly seen leaving the area.

“We believe he can help us, he was the last person seen at the partner house and we believe he can provide information,” Detective Neubronner said.

On Sunday afternoon, WA Police revealed he had been located in the East Cannington area and was assisting police with their enquiries.
