Police discover body of Qld grandmother Wendy Hansen, now hunting for her Pajero
Detectives are desperate to find a grandmother’s vehicle after revealing her body has been found four months after she was last seen alive.
Police have revealed the body of a Queensland grandmother has been found 800km from home in bushland near a main tourist area.
Wendy Hansen, 63, was last seen at an ATM in her home town of Monto, 120km inland from Bundaberg, on February 29 this year.
Her disappearance was reported to police when she didn’t return home, and police found CCTV footage of her driving on Queensland’s main highway, 400km south, from later on February 29.
Queensland Police continued their public push for information in the ensuing months.
But on Thursday, NSW Police revealed Ms Hansen’s body was found on June 18.
Her remains were found half buried in bushland near Jordan Esplanade in Coffs Harbour.
NSW homicide detectives have not found Ms Hansen’s silver 2007 two-door Mitsubishi Pajero with Queensland registration plates 645TCZ.
In a statement on Thursday, NSW detectives say they are specifically interested in finding the car and want anyone with dashcam footage of the vehicle to come forward.
