NT Police Minister Brent Potter has since condemned the violent attack.

He told ABC the incident may trigger a 72-hour lockdown but that can only be enforced by territory’s Police Commissioner Michael Murphy.

“He’ll make that decision, that’s up to him,” Mr Potter said.

If the curfew goes ahead, it’ll be the second time this year one has been imposed.

A curfew was imposed on youth in Alice Springs for 14 days in late March, after 150 people allegedly rioted through the streets.
