A MAN was killed in a hit and run last night while he was walking home with his groceries.
The 50-year-old was hit by a vehicle on Shelduck St, in the southwest Brisbane suburb of Inala, about 8.20pm.
He was carrying shopping bags when he was hit by the car. One resident told the Nine Network they heard a loud bag they thought was the impact.
“All my neighbours were standing in front of my yard all shocked and asked what happened, and they said it was a hit and run kind of thing,” a resident said.
The man had died by the time paramedics arrived.
Police believe speed was a factor in the incident as there were skid marks on the road. They have appealed for witnesses or for anyone who saw a car last night with the front left side dented.
Officers were trying to contact the man’s family late last night.
