A 13-year-old girl has been charged with spitting on a female bus driver in Sydney and bail refused to face a children’s court today.

Also fronting court today is a woman who allegedly spat on a teenage restaurant staffer and later allegedly coughed in the face of a police constable after declaring she was COVID-19 positive.
Both accused have been in custody since being refused bail following their arrests on Wednesday.
Police allege that at about 3.20pm last Thursday, April 23, a group of three girls boarded a bus on Military Road at Cremorne Junction, on Sydney’s Lower North Shore, and sat together at the back of the bus.
The bus driver, a 52-year-old woman, approached the girls and spoke to them before returning to the front of the bus.
It is alleged the girls followed the driver and then the 13-year-old spat at the driver as they alighted from the bus.

North Shore Police Area Command officers arrested the girl at a home in East Killara yesterday afternoon and charged her with common assault and breach of bail.
Meanwhile, officers from Campbelltown City Police Area Command in southwestern Sydney were called to a fast food restaurant at the Eagle Vale Market Place around 8.20pm yesterday.
Police were told a 51-year-old woman had became aggressive and allegedly spat at an 18-year-old staff member and shattered a glass door when her card failed while attempting to pay for her order.
While in custody, police allege the woman claimed she was positive for COVID-19 and then coughed in the face of a male senior constable.
Police charged the woman with common assault, not comply with noticed direction regarding spitting or coughing – COVID-19, and destroy or damage property.
She was refused bail to appear at Campbelltown Local Court.
