Ex-partner faces court charged with murdering mother-of-two Lynn Cannon in Landsdale

Two sons have been left without their mum, and her former partner has been charged with murder, after a woman was found dead in a home.

A man has faced court from a hospital bed, charged with murdering his ex-partner at a Perth home, leaving her two sons without a mother.

The body of Lynn Marie Cannon, 51, was discovered just before 9pm on Monday at a property on Hardcastle Ave in Landsdale.

Her ex-partner Paul Anthony Cannon, 55, remains in hospital under police guard and is receiving treatment for alleged self-inflicted wounds.

He faced Joondalup Magistrates Court on Wednesday via phone, saying he understood the serious charge against him.

Mr Cannon was remanded in custody to appear in Stirling Gardens Magistrates Court on January 18.

Detective Senior Sergeant Stephen Cleal told reporters on Tuesday that Ms Cannon suffered “multiple wounds” to her body but did not share details about a weapon.

There are reports Ms Cannon was stabbed.

“There was screaming noises and obvious signs of a disturbance,” Sergeant Cleal said.

He also revealed there were calls made to police by family members concerned for Ms Cannon’s welfare.

Several items were seized from the house on Tuesday to be forensically examined.

The West Australian reports the couple split two years ago.

The police investigation is ongoing and anyone with information is urged to contact Crime Stoppers.
