Police established multiple crime scenes, after locating two Audi Q7 cars on fire at Berala and Greenacre a short time after.

On Christmas Eve, detectives arrested Adam Ganaim, 22, in the Sydney domestic terminal, where he was taken to the Mascot Police Station.

He was then charged with concealing a serious indictable offence.

NCA NewsWire does not suggest Mr Ganaim is suspected of being the shooter.

He was refused bail to appear before the Parramatta Bail Court on Christmas Day.

The incident initially fell under investigation by detectives from the State Crime Command’s Homicide Squad, under Strike Force Leary.

It then formed part of ongoing inquiries by Task Force Erebus, investigating several fatal shootings and criminal activities by organised crime networks across Sydney.
