Woman `lying on highway' dies in accident

A WOMAN who police think was lying on the Stuart Highway near Alice Springs has died after being hit by a car.

A WOMAN who died after being hit by a car on a highway near Alice Springs may have been lying in the road.

THE 36-year-old was struck on the Stuart Highway on Wednesday night and died at the scene.
