Territory Day to go off with a bang
THE pyromaniacs of the NT will be buying up a year's worth of fireworks on July 1, the only day they can legally be bought, to celebrate self-government.
FURTIVELY, overnight, they have popped up in abandoned Darwin storefronts and highway warehouses, ready to capitalise on the community's desire for an illicit thrill.
CHRYSANTHEMUMS, flying fish, willows, falling leaves: come Tuesday morning, Territorians will be queuing up for their fix at the fireworks stores, which are primed for their busiest - and only - trading day of the year.
