Researcher tackles NT respiratory disease

A DARWIN-BASED doctor who is tackling a chronic respiratory disease in indigenous communities has won a national grant to aid her research.

A HEALTH researcher who is tackling some of the world's highest rates of respiratory disease in indigenous children in the Northern Territory has won a $25,000 national grant to further her fight.

DR Gabrielle McCallum from the Menzies School of Health Research is examining how to prevent and treat recurring lung infections and lung damage early in Aboriginal children.
