A FEDERAL government decision allowing a Top End marine supply base to operate without an environmental impact assessment will be challenged in the Federal Court.
A DIRECTIONS hearing will be held in Darwin on Thursday afternoon following action by the Northern Territory's Environment Centre after it was revealed that a $130 million redevelopment of Port Melville, including a 30-million-litre fuel tank farm in the pristine environment of the Tiwi Islands, was constructed without environmental approval.
