NT quolls undergo anti-toad training

RESEARCHERS are teaching the endangered quoll not to eat cane toads so they can be reintroduced to Kakadu National Park.

THE population of northern quolls was already plummeting when cane toads arrived in the Northern Territory in the early 2000s and pushed them over the edge.

BUT a program designed to train quolls to resist eating the toxic toads is under way and one researcher is optimistic they will bounce back.
