NT power prices to drop 5% on January 1
THE NT's chief minister says power prices will come down by five per cent next year, as a no-confidence motion looms this week.
THE Northern Territory government has announced a five per cent drop in power prices from January 1 but denies the news is a pre-election sweetener.
CHIEF Minister Adam Giles told a Country Liberals Party conference in Darwin on Sunday the restructuring of PowerWater Corporation had resulted in the savings, which would equate to about $155 per year for the average family.
