Man drowns at rockpool on NSW south coast

There has been another drowning tragedy this summer, after a man was pulled from a rockpool on the NSW’s south coast.

A man has been pulled lifeless from a rockpool at Kiama on the NSW south coast.

Passersby desperately tried to save the man by performing CPR before NSW Ambulance paramedics could arrive, however, he could not be revived.

The man, believed to be aged in his 60s, was pulled from the water at Blowhole Point Road, Kiama about 5:40pm on Monday.

He man is yet to be formally identified.

Officers attached to Lake Illawarra Police District attended and have commenced inquiries into the incident.

A report will be prepared for the information of the Coroner.

It’s the latest drowning in what has been a tragic summer in Australian waters. According to the Royal Life Saving Australia, at least 61 people have drowned, with the majority – 28 – in NSW.
