Borroloola residents betrayed by Glencore
TRADITIONAL owners from Borroloola have petitioned the NT govt to shut down the MacArthur River Mine, fearing the consequences of a contaminated waterway.
BORROLOOLA'S Aboriginal traditional owners feel betrayed by mining company Glencore for contaminating their river, and want the Northern Territory government to shut down the MacArthur River Mine.
SIX traditional owners presented a petition, which has collected 3600 signatures in less than a week, to Environment Minister Gary Higgins at Parliament House in Darwin on Thursday.
