INDIGENOUS communities need to take authority over their traditional lands so they can prosper, a senior Yolngu leader says.

GALARRWUY Yunupingu also said on Saturday the federal government had to stop its history of procrastinating about land rights, and the Yolngu people wanted the law changed to hand decision-making powers from land councils to traditional owners.
