CCTV footage shows when a Sydney hit-and-run turned violent

Police have renewed their appeal to find a driver who hit a man and attacked him with a tomahawk before driving away.

CCTV released of hit-and-run attack

Police have released new footage as they continue to hunt for a driver accused of threatening another man after a hit-and-run earlier this year.

A 28-year-old man was hit by a ute while crossing a road in Plumpton, in western Sydney, at about 7.40am on October 27.

Police allege the ute stopped after initially hitting the pedestrian, before the male driver threatened the victim with a tomahawk before driving away from the scene.

Police have released the footage this weekend, which shows the white Holden ute with a yellow toolbox on the tray, as part of a renewed push for anyone with information to come forward.

The victim suffered serious injuries and was hospitalised at the time, but has since been released.

Police are urging anyone with information to contact Crime Stoppers.
