THE NT continues to have the country's highest proportion of criminal offending, although overall offences dropped three per cent last financial year.
AS long as the federal government funds a passive welfare system, the Northern Territory will continue to have the country's highest rates of criminal offending, the attorney-general says.
ON Wednesday the Australian Bureau of Statistics (ABS) released the latest crime figures for 2014-15 showing that the NT has the highest rate of offenders across the country for both men and women, with 5,684 offenders per 100,000 people aged over 10.
