Microsoft's Super Bowl commercial shows us why technology is important
IN A pleasant move from having its products front and centre, Microsoft's latest Super Bowl ad shows how technology can change lives.
MICROSOFT is known for commercials that bombard the audience with products, but for this year's Super Bowl they decided to take a different route.
Titled "empowering", the main commercial shows how technology can change lives. Spoken by former NFL player Steve Gleason who speaks through eye-tracking software on his Microsoft Surface after he was diagnosed with ASL in 2011, it is in unusually emotional ad from the software giant that leaves you a bit teary at times.
Aside from Steve Gleason's condition, it also shows a 97-year old man who creates art in Microsoft Paint, school kids using Skype and a child who was born missing the tibia and fibula bones in both of his legs who can now walk thanks to artificial legs.
But the real tear-jerker comes when 29-year-old Sarah Churman who was born deaf is able to hear for the first time in her life thanks to an implant.
