Woman buys $30 sperm kit online to have baby and she 'couldn't be happier'

"It was really easy and not awkward at all," the mum said of her self-insemination. And she shares a message for the doctors who warned her against it.

The world's come a long way since the days single mums were stigmatised.

And one mum is taking things a step further, to normalise not needing a partner to have a baby. British woman Ennis Bailey recently chose to become a single mum - using a sperm donor kit she bought online.

The 24-year-old has said she "couldn't be happier" with how things have turned out with her bub, Lorenzo.

"Best choice ever"

Ennis shares her family life on TikTok, very obviously a proud mum. But she also wants to share with others that it's possible to make your dreams come true on your own.

This is especially because she received a lot of negative feedback from doctors who advised her against using a sperm donor as a single woman - and she has a message for them.

"To all the doctors who judged me for getting pregnant via sperm donation as a single woman..."

In the clip's caption, she says, "Best choice ever," as she cradles her son.

Ennis has previously shared that she used a sperm donor website to find profiles of men who had experience with seed donation. Once she found "the one", the law student then acquired the insemination kit online from a special medical services provider.

"I wasn't looking for particular features, but I just wanted someone trustworthy and as healthy as possible," she explained. "I wanted to have blood-related siblings."

The man gave her his sperm sample when he visited her home. Ennis then used the kit, which contained sterile cups, syringes and ovulation tests, to inseminate herself.

"It was really easy and not awkward at all," she added.

Ennis also told her viewers  that her donor will receive updates about their son and that Lorenzo "will know about [his father] in the future."

"As many children as I would like"

"Having a baby by myself is the best thing I have ever done," Ennis recently told the Sun.

"I came to the realisation that I didn't want to be in a relationship to have a baby," she added. "I knew I could just do it by myself."

The donor has obviously found it a positive experience, too, as he's consented to be Ennis' donor again... for "as many children as I would like."

In a clip that appears to show her Ennis typing into her phone, she wrote, "Me Googling 'what it's like to have two [kids] under two [years old]' because my donor is back from Italy soon."
