'Trolls say my daughter will be bullied for her gorgeous name but I love it'

"I even put an extra letter on the end so it can be shortened when she's older," the proud mum declared.

If you've ever spent time on the interwebs, you'll know it's full of opinions.

Opinions on what people wear, eat, look like, what job they do, how they parent... and what they name their kids.

But British mum, Lisa-Marie, wasn't about to take online criticism of her baby's name lying down. Instead, she got fired up and defended her decision and her daughter's name.

If you've got a kid with a 'non-common' name, you'll love it.

"Suffer in school"

Posting on her TikTok account, Lisa-Marie, who has 2000 followers, was outraged about a troll who asked on another video, "You didn't name her Bluebell did you?"

The mum of twins responded, "I've come on to talk about this. Yes, her name is Bluebelle. I put an E on the end of it so it can be shortened to Belle when she's older."

The troll had also predicted that Bluebelle will "suffer in school because of her name", something which Lisa-Marie wholeheartedly rejected.

"Bluebelle will absolutely not suffer in school because of her name. Firstly because it's a gorgeous name and it suits her perfectly.

"There are so many children out there with names similar to Bluebelle. What about Daisy? What about Rose? What about Poppy?

"They're all floral names. I've chosen Bluebelle, it's gorgeous."

The school teacher added, "I've never had a girl called Daisy come up to me and say, 'I'm being bullied because of my name'. I've been teaching for three years.

"I've had children with floral names in my class, that just doesn't happen."

Finally, Lisa-Marie said, "Why would anybody say anything about her name? I'd choose her name 100 times over for her, I don't regret it at all. It's absolutely beautiful."

"My daughter is called River"

Viewers sided with Lisa-Marie, and shared their own children's uncommon names.

"My daughter is called River and I've had similar comments," one mum wrote.

Another said, "Not quite the same as Bluebelle, but my baby boy is called Bleu. Our babies will be bought up in a different generation full of unique names!"

Many others reassured Lisa-Marie that her daughter will not be bullied for her name.

"Bluebelle is so cute, plus I even went to school with someone named Flower," wrote one, while another added, "Bluebelle is a beautiful name and she will not suffer in school, of course not!"

Lisa-Marie jumped into the comments later to say, "Wow I'm trying to catch up with the replies - thank you everyone for the support. You've shown me that kindness isn't far and bullies never win!"
