Chupa Chups are so damn hard to open - but not anymore!

If you haven't struggled to open a Chupa Chup at least once in your parenthood journey, do you even have a child? 

Parents know all too well the effort that is needed to unwrap the iconic lollipop. They just don't open up that easily. 

But what if we told you you've been trying to unwrap them wrong your whole life? 

TikTok user @sydneypurl recently took to the video platform to show how we can unwrap a Chupa Chup easily in just two easy steps. 

"Now you know how to open your Chupa," she captioned the post.

TikTok video shows how to open a Chupa Chup properly

The video goes on to show the simple two-step method. Simply look out for the flappy bit hanging from the wrapper, pinch, and twist firmly around the stick. The wrapper will unravel with the firm grip leaving the top end loose enough to pull the whole wrapper off. 

The post had many people talking, with the majority of the TikToker's followers amazed that they never knew this trick before now. 

"You mean after all these years, there's a way to open them without a struggle?" one person asked. 

"OMG why didn't I know this?" another commented. 

And another added: "Nooo my life is made."

But not everyone was impressed, with a few people claiming they already knew this. 

"I thought everyone knew how to open them," one person said. 

"This has been how you open them since they were made," another chimed in. 

And another questioned: "Common sense no?"

But does it actually work? 

Well, to answer the above question... no smarty pants! This isn't common sense and our frustrated minds were so blown that we needed to put the trick to the test. 

Armed with two Chupa Chups I decided to give the trick a whirl. 

I'll be honest, the tip did seem a little ambitious. I've almost chipped many teeth trying to open those stubborn wrappers (don't believe, me? Click here to see it in action!) So the idea of simply pinching and twisting to unwrap a lollipop just seemed too good to be true. 

Well, my friends, it wasn't! The wrapper did twist open easily and while it wasn't exactly a smooth movement, it certainly was easier and quicker than any other method I've used. 

Try it for yourself and it might just decrease your stress levels next time one of your rugrats comes to you armed with the lollipop.
