A DAY at the races has descended into a violent brawl for a group of at least five women, who can be seen kicking and punching one another on camera.
The footage, aired on Seven News, shows two women dressed to the nine’s on Ladies Day at Sydney’s Rosehill Racecourse wrestling each other to the ground before police intervene.
Another three women in floral outfits are seen in the background. One woman was left with a black eye after the incident that was described by a witness as “vicious”
“It surprised me that they started pulling each other’s hair and pulling each other to the ground. It was pretty vicious.,” a bystander told Seven News.
Police are investigating and no charges have yet been laid.
The footage comes just months after 25-year-old Melbourne woman Sarah Finn was filmed pushing over a senior police officer at the Melbourne Cup.
She posted a picture of herself sitting on a police motorbike at the event but later apologised after being charged with assault for sending Acting Superintendent Steven Cooper flying into a flowerbed in scenes that went viral around the world.
“My level of intoxication is no excuse,” she said. “I deeply apologise for my actions. I acknowledge a massive error in judgment on my behalf.”
