Melbourne Cup 2020: How will it work during COVID?

The Melbourne Cup Carnival doesn’t kick off until tomorrow – but already the outfits are in full swing.

With the races all being streamed online this year, celebrities and models have been filling our Instagram feeds with inspiration.

Former WAG and Melbourne Cup ambassador Nadia Bartel took to her social media account to serve up a racy look for racegoers at home, wearing an off-the-shoulder rainbow dress with a seriously high thigh split.

Made by Australian designer Pfeiffer, the “Lilo” dress has been described online as “paddle pop pastel dream”, and comes with a $499 price tag.

Nadia teamed hers with a pair of nude Tony Bianco heeled mules that cost $219.95 and a matching tie-dye headband by Ford Millinery which retails for $129.95.

Fans of the 35-year-old mum – who shares two kids with ex-husband Jimmy – fell head over heels for the pretty spring look, declaring Nadia looked “incredible”.

“You divine human,” one wrote, while another said she looked “absolutely stunning”.

Others praised her colourful dress, calling it the “perfect” spring racing outfit.

“Rainbow dress of dreams,” one wrote.

“Looking absolutely stunning and hot as always Nadia, love your dress,” another said.

“Ultra cute outfit,” someone else declared.

Nadia told fans she’d enjoyed “playing dress-ups at my home” and called on followers to do the same on Tuesday for the Cup, explaining there were fun competitions running online for the best dressed at home.

“There are four fun new categories that are open to everyone, and there are some fabulous prizes up for grabs,” she wrote.

“To enter, dress up in your best racing-inspired look during Cup Week and upload a photo to Instagram, tagging #CupWeekFashion and the category you’re entering – #LoungeInStyle, #FamilyTies, #CupWeekCostumes or #MadHatters”.

The competition for the title of best dressed has already shut, with the finalists from each state being announced on social media earlier in the week.

The winner of the National Title will be crowned on live on Channel 10 during Kennedy Oaks Day on November 5.
