FROM monochromes to double-breasted suits - fashionable fillies including Rachel Finch took to the catwalk today to show what we’ll be wearing to the spring races.

THE fashionable fillies hit Flemington today for the Myer Spring Fashion Launch featuring a parade of the latest looks for the spring racing carnival.

Myer ambassador Rachel Finch led the charge on the catwalk in a selection of feminine and flattering new season trends.

“Monochrome tones from whites and creams to greys and black are going to be prominent this year,” she says.

“Color is always going to be popular, people want to get into colour once the weather gets better.”

It wasn’t just the latest women’s racing trends on show - the gents also stepped out in style on the catwalk.

Melbourne designer Arthur Galan says double-breasted suits are making a comeback for men.

“A slim modern take on the double breasted suit is definitely going to be popular,” he says.

“The blazer and pant combination rather than the traditional suit will also be strong.”

More than 700 guests in elegant racewear, including Rebecca Judd, fashions on the field ambassador Georgia Connolly, Lauren Phillips and Rebecca Maddern, celebrated the launch of the spring racing carnival in style.

As the 50th anniversary since Jean Shrimpton’s headline-making appearance at Flemington fast approaches her friend and former top model Maggie Eckardt delight the crowd with her recollections of the day.
