LAUREN Phillips has denied being escorted out of the Lavazza marquee on Melbourne Cup Day.
Phillips said she went to visit some friends at the end of the day and left the Myer marquee with another friend and a security guard.
At the VRC Oaks lunch yesterday at Crown, she said reports she was hustled away were not true.
“It was the end of the day, after the races, and I just popped my head in to see some friends I hadn’t seen in years,’’ she said.
“That was silly (to suggest I was escorted out). It just got a bit crazy at the end because there were some photographers there.”
Shane Warne, Real Housewives of Meloburne Lydia Schiavello, Tyrone Wood, Montana Cox, Chris Judd and Phillip’s ex Gary Ablett were all mingling in the coffee giant’s exclusive marquee.
Meanwhile, Lavazza spokesman Trent Knox said Phillips is always welcome.
“She is an extended member of the Lavazza family and it was great to see her after she finished official duties with Myer. There were no issues at all,’’ he said.
