X-rated bedroom act baffles MAFS viewers, sends Google searches soaring
Last night’s MAFS episode has been rather educational for millions of viewers after a groom mentioned this sex act. WARNING: Sexual content.
It’s often sledged as the trashiest of reality TV shows, but Tuesday night’s episode of Married At First Sight has proved rather educational for viewers.
Groom Andrew opened up about his extensive sexual experience to TV wife Holly, however stressed there was one sex act he wasn’t interested in.
“There are some things off limits. Like, no pegging. There’s no going down that road with you,” he said, much to the confusion of Holly.
“I don’t know what that is. I have to Google it,” she confessed.
It turns out Holly wasn’t alone either, with Google recording a huge spike in searches for “pegging” when Andrew named the sex act on national TV.
What is pegging?
Pegging is a sex act where a woman performs sex on a man, usually by wearing a strap-on dildo.
The term is relatively modern, having been coined in 2001 by American sex writer Dan Savage.
Author and sex worker Taylor Tara previously told Body + Soul that there were plenty of heterosexual men who enjoyed having it performed on them “just for something different”.
“If I ever have a client that I feel has got some issues with their sexuality I just pull out the counselling cards and just say don’t be ashamed,” she said. “The world is so diverse now and everybody is trying something different.”
‘My parents Googling pegging because of MAFS’
If you didn’t know what pegging was before last night’s episode of MAFS then you’re not alone, with many viewers taking to Twitter to share it had been a revelation for them too.

Google searches for the sex act have continued to run hot in the hours since the episode aired.
We’re guessing they’re largely from the parents of adult children too embarrassed to explain what pegging means.
Married At First Sight continues at 7.30pm tonight on Channel 9.
