Sharna Beckman was working as a dental assistant for six years when Covid struck and reduced her hours. She’d seen people doing well modelling on an adult subscription service so she decided to try her hand at it to earn some extra money.
“I wasn’t taking OnlyFans as seriously and then I ended up losing my job because I wasn’t wanting to get vaccinated, so I ended up taking it more seriously and that’s when I started skyrocketing,” Sharna told news.com.au.
But, the 27-year-old found an unusual niche on the adult website. She makes six figures a month — and is on track to make $1.5 million in 2024 — by humiliating men.
“I was pretty plain Jane when I first got involved and then I started getting all these requests, and they were offering big money for it,” she said.
“I was like ‘stuff it, I’ll do it’. They’d tell me these weird kinks and what they would want out of it.”
It was new territory for Sharna to step into. Friends would describe her as bubbly, friendly and outgoing but in this new world she was essentially working as a dominatrix.
But, she was open to trying new things and found it fun to step into this “mean” role that was so unlike her day-to-day life.
One particular session that comes to mind for Sharna was when she was doing custom content for a man who wore women’s heels and a handbag.
“He was telling me to call him all these names, tell him he was stupid,” she said.
“He absolutely loved it and just kept paying me more and more the more so I’d continue saying those things.”
Sharna claims she makes over a million dollars a year – and the most she has ever made was $220,000 in a month.
She said for the last six months she’s made six figures and is on track to make $1.5 million in 2024.
“I mean, it’s not for everyone. I know a lot of girls that can’t really handle the industry because you get mean comments but I’ve got pretty tough skin,” Sharna said, adding her friends and mum are supportive of her career.
“I just try not to read the comments and my fans all love me. A lot of them have been around since the beginning.”
Sharna said she wanted to enjoy her time working in the sex industry but said she wanted to invest in properties and start a swimwear or clothing line for the future.
“I love fashion. I love putting outfits together, so maybe something like that. I haven’t 100 per cent figured out what I actually want to do.”
Sharna revealed she didn’t come from much and wants to be able to support herself and her mother, who lives in government housing.
