Convicted text abuser launches sex book under new identity
CONVICTED text abuser Dan Shearin, who will be called to give evidence at an inquest into the suicide death of his girlfriend, has launched a tell-all sex book.
CONVICTED text abuser Dan Shearin who will be called to give evidence at an inquest into the mysterious balcony death of his girlfriend has launched a new sex book under a pseudonym.
The title of the book is C.R.U.I.S.E., Shearin’s acronym for “Can’t Rest Until I’ve Shagged Everything” or “Can’t Rest Until I’ve Snogged Everybody”.
Shearin, a former cruise ship entertainer, is promoting the book after apparently changing his name to Jayden Daniel Moorea.
He is selling it as an ebook by “J.D Mo’orea” and a revealing account of on-board life with “sexual references, hilarious stories, indecent exposures, profanities”.
To go with the book, Shearin has also set up a business and website pushing his line of “C.R.U.I.S.E. Apparel”, as well as giving his own “life advice” through a blog on the site.
The 45-year-old is due to attend a hearing before the Queensland Coroner later this year into the death of Breeana Robinson, 21, who fell from the balcony of his luxury Gold Coast apartment in 2013.
Shearin was convicted of sending Ms Robinson abusive text messages before her death.
It has also been revealed that the Gold Coast man tried to withdraw money from Ms Robinson’s bank account the morning after she died.
Shearin was the first boyfriend of Ms Robinson, a Gold Coast Titans cheerleader who suffered from a congenital eye condition and was legally blind. She had moved into his flat just 38 days before she died.
Ms Robinson fell to her death from the 11th floor balcony of Shearin’s H20 Broadwater complex apartment at Southport on January 29, 2013.
Late last year, Shearin registered an Australian Business Number (ABN) under the name Jayden Daniel Moorea with the business name My C.R.U.I.S.E Apparel, which according to online ads also stands for “Can’t Rest Until I’ve Sailed Everywhere”. A website under the same name features a line of T-shirts and hoodies bearing the C.R.U.I.S.E logo.
It reads: “It was when I was sailing on a ship, and saw several groups of people all wearing the same shirts to celebrate their cruise, that it dawned on me that the ‘C.R.U.I.S.E’ shirts would make a great addition to a cruise addicts [sic] wardrobe.”
The website includes some life advice. A blog post titled “The Key To Happiness”, talks about how the nursery rhyme Row, Row, Row Your Boat gives insight into how life should be lived. It says: “The song doesn’t say ‘row someone else’s boat’. It says row ‘your boat’. Stop trying to live your life on someone else’s terms.”
It goes on: “There is no mention in the song, of rowing your boat forcefully or aggressively. Row your boat ‘gently’ and peacefully.”
His spelling of the name as Mo’orea represents the name of an island in French Polynesia.
It is believed, however, that when he is called to appear before the inquest into Ms Robinson’s death it will be under his name Daniel Shearin.
After Ms Robinson’s death, Shearin pleaded guilty to having harassed her with text messages, calling her a “complete f***ing moron”, a “dumb c**t” and a “stupid b*tch”.
Shearin, who served only 11 days of a two-month sentence overturned on appeal, believes Ms Robinson committed suicide.
The young woman’s family has never accepted that she took her own life, and an inquest will now examine what led to her death.
Shearin sent Ms Robinson the abusive texts while she was living with him.
They included belittling messages such as, “You’re more interested in TV, food and everything else but your partner. That’s why everything’s ruined. Your priorities are f***ed up.”
Queensland Coroner James McDougall will formally investigate Ms Robinson’s death over the course of a five-day inquest at a date to be fixed.
He will investigate “the specific circumstances surrounding Breeana’s death, particularly how she came to fall to her death”.
In February last year, Shearin pleaded guilty to stalking a woman he had met on a dating website and had abused after she ended their relationship.
Shearin was placed on 12 months’ probation for cyber stalking the woman he called a “sl**”, a “b**ch” and a “piece of s**t”.
