A new map claims to reveal Australia’s “sexiest suburbs”, with a surprising location taking out the top spot.

Australia’s “sexiest suburbs” have been revealed in a new map, with a surprising location taking out the top spot.

The Sex Map of Australia, created by sex toy retailer LoveHoney, revealed which Aussie cities, towns and suburbs spend the most money on its site — as well as some saucy secrets about each.

Melbourne CBD topped the list, earning the title of “sexiest suburb in Australia” having spent more per head on sex toys and accessories than any other Australian postcode.

Melbourne as a whole was also dubbed the “best dressed city”, buying more lingerie than anywhere else in Australia.

The nation’s capital was also a surprising winner, with two ACT suburbs — Gungahlin and South Canberra – making the top 10 on the sexiest suburb list.

Two Sydney suburbs also took out top spots, with LoveHoney dubbing Bondi and Manly “Sydney’s sexiest places to live”.

Four WA suburbs — Cockburn, Belmont, Swan and Bunbury — also made the top 10.

At the other end of the spectrum, Epping, NSW, Unley, SA and Beachmere, QLD were dubbed the three least sexy suburbs in Australia.

The data — created using Lovehoney’s 2022 sales figures, a global sexual preferences survey and the website’s predicted 2023 trends — also revealed some interesting findings about which products each city bought most.

“While (Sydney) Eastern Suburb residents showed favouritism towards clitoral stimulators, those in Sydney’s Northern Beaches have a penchant for good, clean fun,” buying up water-based lube, toy cleaners and toy care kits, a LoveHoney spokesperson told news.com.au.

The retailer’s annual sex study offered a sneak peek into the bedrooms of thousands of Australians.

The study found more than half of respondents had bought a sex toy in the past year, and two-thirds of those buyers were in a relationship. A staggering 90 per cent of participants said they had the desire to use a sex toy with a partner.

The retailer also claimed people who bought sex toys were 20 per cent more satisfied with their sex life compared to the general population.
