Sweet story behind couple’s Coles wedding pictures

An Aussie couple have shared their unique wedding photos after tying the knot inside a Coles store – where the pair first met.

An Aussie couple have returned to the unlikely place where they first met more than seven years ago to tie the knot in a rather unique wedding ceremony.

Elisabeth Pel and husband Harley Liebelt were both working at a Coles supermarket in Mount Barker, South Australia, in 2016 when they first crossed paths.

The employees fell in love while working at the store together, and have been dating for seven years.

Elisabeth and Harley also have one beautiful son together.

Two weeks ago, the couple said ‘I do’ – but they wanted to include the place that brought them together in their special day.

So, Elisabeth and Harley decided to take a trip down memory lane and had their wedding photos taken inside the exact same Coles supermarket.

Photographer Jacob Jennings captured the husband and wife as they walked hand-in-hand through the aisles.

Their wedding day hadn’t gone off without a hitch – the pair had to change their venue the night before due to it being in a fire danger zone.

But you wouldn’t be able to tell, given the stunning photographs of the newlyweds gazing at each other lovingly in their wedding pics.

“We felt absolutely out of place but he made it wonderful and the store manager was also wonderful,” Elisabeth said.

The store manager echoed Elisabeth’s comments.

“It was a really nice moment when they returned to the store here in Mt Barker – all the customers were amazed when a bride and groom walked in,” they said.

Meanwhile, a Coles spokesperson said: “We are thrilled that two of our former team members found love and were able to return to where it all began for them.”

Elisabeth shared the photographs to a Facebook page dedicated to weddings that are under $15K, and social media users were in awe.

“Why did your wedding photos almost make me cry even though I don’t even know you?! These are so stunning, you are absolutely gorgeous! Congratulations,” one social media user said.

Another said: “OK firstly SUPER cute omg and second what a beautiful set of sneak peek pics! Love the colour palette and both of you look so relaxed and fairytale-beautiful.”

One added: “Oh my gosh! My partner and I met at Coles – this is such a beautiful idea!!!”
