Instagram star The Young Mummy Sophie Cachia splits from husband Jaryd

It looks like any other selfie, taken by a Melbourne couple. But the “real” truth behind this snap has stunned thousands and earned praise online.

Sophie Cachia, The Young Mummy, has a message for her haters

At first glance, Sophie Cachia’s latest selfie looks like just any other picture of a happy married couple.

But in the caption the Melbourne-based Instagram influencer revealed she and her husband Jaryd had sadly decided to separate.

The blogger turned businesswoman revealed she and her husband still “love & respect each other” and live under the same roof — a move that’s been largely praised by her followers.

In the caption Sophie wrote while most people assumed a marriage breakdown meant “animosity or hatred”, that hadn’t been the case for her and Jaryd.

Instead, she said the pair had been able to “maintain a powerful connection & strong bond” in co-parenting their two small children, six-year-old son Bobby and two-year-old daughter Florence.

“Whilst it hasn’t always been easy navigating through co-parenting under the same roof this year … we truly appreciate how lucky we are to have each other,” she said in the caption.

“We are merely a case of two kids who fell in love hard early, and are now two adults who love & respect each other enough to part ways amicably.”

Adding that she and Jaryd had been “navigating privately for a long time” their “really unique relationship”, Sophie ended her post by saying they look “forward to continuing life together & forever as a family”.

Sophie’s brutally real post about her split drew praise from her followers, who commended the 28-year-old for setting a “beautiful example” for other couples breaking up.

“It takes true love; of yourselves, each other, and your kids to acknowledge it’s time for the next chapter in your lives and navigate it with grace,” one follower wrote.

“Wonderfully said — and what a beautiful example I hope for others navigating this same path or similar, or like you said see separation with only negative connotation,” another added.

Others even shared their personal stories of growing up with divorced parents who had remained friendly for the sake of their children.

“My parents divorced when I was quite young and although it wasn’t as amicable as your situation straight away I never once heard my parents say a bad word about each other — ever!” one of Sophie’s followers shared.

The couple first got together when Jaryd was 19 and Sophie was 20.

“Over the years they learnt to be friends again and both remarried amazing people. The pinnacle of this story was when my brother got married only 2 years ago, my mum had just lost her husband to cancer and my stepmum was also going through that battle.

“And there sat my parents as each other’s plus one holding hands as friends to proud of their children and grandchildren … it makes my heart smile when I think of it.”

Sophie and Jaryd, a former AFL player, began dating when she was 20 and he was 19.

The couple welcomed their son Bobby in 2013 when Sophie was 22 and that same year she started her blog The Young Mummy.

She and Jaryd married in 2016, welcoming daughter Florence a year later.

Since then Sophie has branched out into business and has her own sleepwear line Cachia.
