All New Monty Ladies’ Night: Nadia Bartel tears up about split with Jimmy
The mother-of-two has opened up about her split from AFL star Jimmy Bartel, admitting it’s been “a tough time personally”.
Nadia Bartel has opened up about her “painful” split from estranged husband Jimmy, admitting it’s been “a tough time personally” for her.
Nadia appeared on last night’s Channel 7 special The All New Monty: Ladies’ Night, in which she and other female celebrities performed a burlesque routine for breast cancer awareness.
In an emotional interview, Nadia said the scrutiny around her split from Jimmy — which was announced in August — had been difficult.
“It’s been a tough time personally for me recently,” she said. “It’s just so painful.”
The 34-year-old said she hoped performing in The All New Monty would “give me more confidence”.

“Obviously, we’re there for the cause but I think it will just be great for me to put myself out there doing something that is definitely totally out of my comfort zone,” Nadia said.
“I think it will give me a whole new load of confidence.”
It’s highly likely that Nadia’s heartfelt interview was filmed only recently as The All New Monty’s burlesque performance was shot in early April, months before any split rumours about the AFL glamour couple.
Jimmy and Nadia shared their last Instagram post together in June, with speculation about their relationship only emerging in August.
According to the Herald Sun, Jimmy was edited out of The All New Monty, with the former Geelong player only appearing in the audience in a blink-and-you’ll-miss-it moment.
“He will have to be edited from Ladies’ Night. He was in the audience and he was definitely in cutaways,” an insider told the newspaper earlier this month.
News.com.au has contacted Seven for comment.
Last month Nadia and Jimmy confirmed their relationship was over after five years of marriage. The couple had been together since meeting at the Australian Formula 1 Grand Prix in 2008 and got engaged in 2012.
“It’s been a very difficult month for me and the boys. Although I’m heartbroken, I don’t want to comment specifically on what’s been reported about Jim’s trip to the UK as I don’t think that is in anyone’s interests,” she told the Herald Sun in a statement.
“My single focus now is to continue to protect, care and provide for my two beautiful boys as this is a personal matter.”
Since announcing their split, Jimmy has been linked to Lauren Mand, with the two photographed drinking beers in Sydney together late last month.
Last week Nadia owned the Brownlow Medal red carpet in a stunning dress by J’Aton Couture.
Nadia stepped out on the red carpet solo for the first time in almost a decade as part of her duties hosting the event for Seven.
